After a minor setback to start the season, ru Virtus.pro are quickly regaining their place at the top of CIS with their latest Qualifier victory in the AMD Sapphire Dota Pit Minor CIS Regional. VI KA! We’ve notched another win in our streak, and qualified for #DotaPit! GG @team_empire #GGVP pic.twitter.com/rZfO7I4Hch— Virtus.pro (@virtuspro) September 27, 2017

VP's first match this season was in the PGL Open: Bucharest CIS Qualifier against ru Team Empire, which they lost 2-0 and were eliminated from the event. Since then, they've dropped just one game out of fifteen, and won every series.

In Dota PIT, VP faced Empire in both the Winners' Final and Grand Final matches and utterly crushed them in both meetings. In the first series, neither game even made it to the 30 minute mark.

Empire fared slightly better in the best-of-five Grand Final, but not by much. VP won three games in a row, with all three games ending around the 35 minute mark. The bears used a variety of drafts to take down their enemies. Only Batrider and Doom were picked more than once during the series while ru Roman 'RAMZEs' Kushnarev, ua Vladimir 'No[o]ne' Minenko and ru Aleksey 'Solo' Berezin all played a different hero each game.

Now, Virtus.pro have added the Dota PIT Minor LAN event in Split, Croatia Nov 2-5 to their schedule. They've already qualified for ESL One Hamburg 2017, the first Major of the season.

The Dota PIT Minor has a prize pool of $300,000 and will award 300 Qualifying Points to the top 4 teams.
