Immortals secure their first LAN appearance of the season

Immortals* had a bit of a bumpy road to the playoff stage of the Qualifier. In the GSL group stage, they beat

Is GG* 2-0, but then lost 2-0 to

compLexity Gaming. Since VGJ.S won their second match, the two teams had a rematch to determine who advanced, and Immortals took them down 2-0 again.

In the playoff round, Immortals faced

Digital Chaos* followed by

OpTic Gaming. Despite Game 2 being an absolute stomp by DC, the two teams were quite evenly matched. Games 1 and 3 of their were very close, but Immortals pulled out the win in both.

The Dire is the team that had knocked Immortals out of the Starladder | i-League Invitational #3 NA Qualifier just a few days earlier. ppd's squad took the first game of the series, but Immortals struck back in Game 2 and proceeded to crush The Dire in Game 3, taking the series win.

Immortals formed just a few weeks ago. The squad, which is the full-five man lineup of the former MVP Phoenix squad of the TI6 era, announced their roster on Sept 1. Shortly afterward, the team was signed by the Immortals organization.
