The International 2017 second place squad cn Newbee have announced that they won't be making any roster changes for the upcoming competitive season. No changes 👌 .2017-2018 pic.twitter.com/hy9vDyAxYz— Newbee (@NewbeeCN) September 8, 2017

Newbee usually aren't immune to shuffles, even after winning The International 2014 they lost cn Zhang 'xiao8' Ning. This year though, it seems they've finally landed on a roster with the drive to continue to compete together and potentially even take on another TI Grand Final.

Even the western Dota 2 community should be pleased. Where western fans are usually less likely to cheer for a Chinese squad, the community gained a newfound obsession with Newbee's midlaner cn Song 'Sccc' Chun shortly after their TI7 Grand Final performance (and the many selfies taken with Sccc at the after party that night). Even his teammate au Damien 'kpii' Chok got in on the fun.

The TI7 Grand Final wasn't Newbee's only shining moment since this roster came together in September 2016. Things started to pick up for the squad around November, when Newbee were dominating in the Dota2 ACE Provisional League.

They qualified for ESL One Genting 2017, and came 2nd at the LAN event in early 2017. The team attended five LANs in the three months before TI7 and their worst result was 3rd-4th at Starladder | i-League Invitational #2. It's hardly surprising that they've chosen to stay together.

Newbee's roster:
cn Xu 'Moogy' Han
cn Song 'Sccc' Chun
au Damien 'kpii' Chok
cn Hu 'Kaka' Liangzhi
cn Zeng 'Faith' Hongda
