Vici Gaming qualify for Galaxy Battles in last minute tiebreaker

posted by Abelle,
When LGD dropped out of Galaxy Battles to take CDEC's place in DOTA Summit 7, Galaxy Battles organized a tiebreaker to decide LGD's replacement.

There were three teams tied for second place in the Galaxy Battles Chinese qualifier - cn LGD.Forever Young, cn Team Max and cn Vici Gaming. With LGD.FY in Moscow for EPICENTER: Moscow Season 2, the tiebreaker came down to a best-of-three between Team Max and Vici Gaming.

Vici Gaming destroyed Team Max in a less than 30 minute Game 1 stomp. While Team Max managed to hold on longer and even the score somewhat in Game 2, Vici took the win and secured the Galaxy Battles spot.

Once a top Chinese team, Vici Gaming have been through numerous roster changes and fallen out of the spotlight in recent months. Roster changes put them in The Kiev Major open qualifiers, which they came through, but fell just short of qualification in regionals, coming 3rd.

Vici Gaming's roster:
cn Chen 'Hao' Zhihao
cn Zeng 'Ori' Jiaoyang
cn Zhou 'Yang' Haiyang
cn Xu 'hym' Zhi
my Wong Hock 'Chuan' Chuan

Galaxy Battles takes place June 14th-18th in Shenzen, China and features a $150,000 USD prize pool. It takes place on the same days as DOTA Summit 7, but on the opposite side of the world so if you don't need sleep to live, you're in for one heck of a week of Dota 2.
