The EPICENTER: Moscow Season 2 Americas qualifier wrapped up last night, and Thunderbirds came out on top to qualify for the LAN event next month. Welcome to #EPICENTER: Moscow, guys!@Resolut1on_ @w33haa @Saksadota @MiSeRyDOTA @MoonMeanderated 😘 pic.twitter.com/bhfhZ13ceg— EPICENTER: Moscow (@epicentergg) May 14, 2017

Thunderbirds faced a familiar foe in world Team NP for the best-of-three qualifier final. Team NP had been undefeated in the EPICENTER upper bracket until they met Thunderbirds, who had been forecd into the lower bracket in the first round by us Is GG*.

That initial loss for the ex-Digital Chaos squad proved to be just a minor slipup as the team proceeded to 2-0 everyone in the lower bracket on their path to the final, then beat Team NP 2-0 as well.

Thunderbirds can look forward to some home crowd cheers in Moscow as Resolution is a favourite of CIS fans. They may also have a chance for some redemption against us Evil Geniuses, the team that eliminated them from the Kiev Major. Many expected the match between the two teams to be quite close, but in the end EG wiped the floor with Thunderbirds in a pair of stomps.

ca David 'Moonmeander' Tan is the only player on Thunderbirds who attended the last EPICENTER: Moscow. He was still a part of eu OG at the time, and came in 3rd place with his team.

The next month is shaping up to be quite busy for Thunderbirds. They head to Moscow for EPICENTER June 4th-11th, shortly after finishing their DreamLeague Season 7 matches May 30th-31st. They're also still in the running for a spot at DOTA Summit 7, for which (if they qualify) they'd have to fly from Moscow to LA to make it for matches June 14th-18th.
