It was thought to be one of the closer matches of The Kiev Major Day 2 but Evil Geniuses absolutely destroyed their NA rivals in a quick 2-0 match.

pk Sumail 'SumaiL' Syed Hassan got one of his favourite heroes in Game 1, and as usual he didn't let a bit of a bad start in mid slow him down much. Despite Thunderbirds executing some great ganks early on, EG seemed to be simply waiting for their timing window before turning on the aggression.

Stop me if you've heard this one before... @SumaaaaiL was 1/2/0 on Storm at 8:00. He's gone 8/0/13 in the 30 minutes since. #kievmajor pic.twitter.com/q1cYpsjEiZ— Nahaz (@NahazDota) April 28, 2017

Once EG did go aggressive, things went very well thanks to their strong vision game. Their first pick Riki for se Ludwig 'zai' Wåhlberg was able to roam all over the map gaining information for his team and planting deep wards which allowed SumaiL to make long jumps to catch Thunderbirds and rack up the Bloodstone charges.

As EG's lead grew, the map got more and more dangerous for Thunderbirds. Towards the end of the game, ua Roman 'Resolut1on' Fominok's Luna was caught out SumaiL multiple times, and EG's combination of physical and magical damage meant neither Black King Bar nor Satanic were enough to keep Thunderbirds' carry alive through the burst.

Game 2 was an absolute disaster for Thunderbirds. Evil Geniuses never gave up an inch and used their combination of Io, Treant Protector and Legion Commander allowed them to sustain momentum that denied Thunderbirds any space.

With a kill score of 3 to 24 and half of their barracks missing, Thunderbirds made a desperation smoke out of their base. EG smoked as well, and the fight started with a Duel that took ua Roman 'Resolut1on' Fominok out of the fight. With their carry down, Thunderbirds didn't stand a chance in the fight.

Thunderbirds may be out of The Kiev Major now, but in good news, Evil Geniuses are looking absolutely fantastic. Maybe ca Artour 'Arteezy' Babaev is finally on track for his first Valve event championship?
