Details beyond dates and prize pool are scarce, but organizers have also announced that there will be qualifiers for Europe, CIS, North America, China and "other regions" starting in May. There will be 10 teams competing in the LAN final, though it is not clear whether any teams will be eliminated during the group stage.
The first EPICENTER event featured six direct invites and four qualifier teams, but the four qualifiers fought in a Wild Card stage before the group stage, and only two of the four made it through to groups. EPICENTER have not given further format details for this year's event.
The EPICENTER group stage will take place June 4-7 with the LAN Final following on June 9-11. The prize pool is $500,000.
EPICENTER have also announced a cosplay contest at the main event featuring a prize pool of 200,000 rubles.
The winner of last year's EPICENTER was
Team Liquid, who had only been invited to the event after EHOME dropped out. Their LAN victory was sandwiched between two second place finishes at The Shanghai Major and The Manila Major.
