Adrian 'Fata' Trinks left Team Liquid post-TI6 to take a break, however, after six months he returns with B)ears, and the team is a real mix of players from around the world. The least experienced high profile player on the side is
Yazied 'YapzOr' Jaradat who decided to leave the now deceased Escape Gaming for B)ears, but based off his excellent performance today on Earth Spirit and Slardar he is clearly rising to the challenge, much like
Feras 'Feero' Hroob.
Feras 'Feero' Hroob is B)ears carry, who aside from a 6-month stint in Boreal eSports from 2015-2016, has remained off the radar. This is his biggest team to date but tonight he did not look out of place amongst veterans.Today's match in the DAC Qualifiers was the team's debut and despite being behind in the early period of both game 1 and 2, they pulled off an emphatic 2-0 victory over Ad Finem, runners-up at the Boston Major.
Game 1: Ad Finem hit the ground running but B)ears make a big move
Ad Finem's aggression at the Boston Major brought them immense success and they started the first game against B)ears with textbook laning dominance. B)ears would have been forgiven for losing a debut against such stiff opposition but credit to the team they stuck with it and a decisive moment 20 minutes in helped them turn the tides.
One Roshan is all it took for B)earsAt 20 minutes Ad Finem had control of the map and
Team B)ears* appeared base-ridden, but a bold decision to take Roshan at 20 minutes after a DD rune spawned for
Feras 'Feero' Hroob's Shadow Fiend was the key turning point for the side. B)ears' main damage dealer had been targeted by Ad Finem's mobile heroes which included Slardar, Queen of Pain and Weaver, but with Aegis it meant that should Feero's SF be caught out before he could activate his BKB, he would still have a second chance.
Feero's debut for B)ears was impressive
Yazied 'YapzOr' Jaradat 's Earth Spirit and
Sang-Don 'FoREv' Lee's Dark Seer to die.B)ears still kept up the pressure with Aegis in hand and continued to beautifully combine Vengeful Spirit's Swap with Earth Spirit's Geomagnetic grip, which was extremely effective in dealing with the slippery
Omar 'Madara' Dabachach Weaver and
Haris 'SkyLark' Zafiriou Nyx Assassin.Ad Finem had played the early game almost perfectly with their trademark early aggression but B)ears decisiveness to go for the Roshan on the back of a successful skirmish was the turning point of the game.
With the Aegis B)ears managed to take down Ad Finem's tier 2 towers and get vision on their side of the map. When Roshan fell B)ears were 10-14 behind on kills but finished the game 27-18, with new addition Feero suffering not a single death for the last 20 minutes of the 35 minute game.
Game 2: Necrophos kept at arm's length as Forev goes hunting
B)ears continued their impressive debut in the second game by recovering from a slow early laning phase thanks to rotations by
Adam Erwann 'Adam' Shah's Jakiro and
Yazied 'YapzOr' Jaradat's Slardar. Ad Finem had successful targeted
Adrian 'Fata' Trinks's Ember Spirit in the mid lane delivering 3 deaths to the former Team Liquid player, but the rotations of his team-mates made up for his early deaths and delayed Skylark's Mekansm.
Thug did his best to keep Ad Finem afloat but without good initation he was an easy target for B)earsAdFinem's star player
Dimitrios 'ThuG' Plivouris's Sniper was their most valuable hero throughout the game after continious ganks on
Omar 'Madara' Dabachach initiated by Forev's Nyx Assassin put his Necrophos behind. The fact Ad Finem were now putting all their eggs in one basket ended up being their downfall as Feero finally got the levels he needed to make use of Lone Druid's talent tree. The Greeks draft was reliant on Necrophos to initiate on B)ears but against the chain disables of Jakiro, Ember Spirit and Nyx Assassin he was the prey not the predator. Ad Finem conceded after 56 minutes, resulting in a 2-0 defeat. B)ears will now move on to play either Team Secret or Navi in the next round.
