Groups
Natus Vincere and the humourously named The GD B Team (formerly mousesports) were the days big winners, with each of them progressing out of their groups in first place.
Following Na'Vi in Group A was Empire, whose brave decision to pick Na'Vi (as was their right as one of the two top teams in the initial online ladder phase) paid off despite them losing to them; the two teams can now only potentially meet again in the Upper Bracket Final. Virtus.Pro were the unfortunate victims of the three-team group, and were eliminated at the first hurdle having lost both of their matches.
Meanwhile in Group B, it was the newly-named Pulse Esports (formerly Skånes Elite) who advanced in second place with a respectable record of two wins and one loss. Their progression along with that of The GD B Team's came at the expense of both Moscow Five - who could not replicate the form they showed in the online phase - and Meet Your Makers, with both teams losing and drawing their matches, and unable to register a solitary victory.
The action continues tomorrow at 13.00 CEST; tune in here when the time comes to catch our resident shoutcaster, Toby 'TobiWanKenobi' Dawson bringing you all of the action from the knockout stage matches, live and in English from the event itself in Kiev!
