A base race to end all base races!! Digital Chaos sneaky tactics end in victory against TI5 champions Evil Geniuses. Wings' opponent for the Grand FInals of The International 6 has been decided!

Ahead of the LB Final much was made of Digital Chaos' momentum, coming back from elimination in the upper-bracket to cn Team Random* to win four matches in quick succession against the likes of Int Fnatic and cn EHOME. Misery's drafting has been on point in Seattle and fortunately he managed to get his team back on track after a very shaky lead up to The International 6 at the Summit 5 and the Nanyang Championships Season 2.

DC take the lead after Sumail's QoP falls behind
First game pk Sumail 'SumaiL' Syed Hassan's lack of kills on Queen of Pain put him behind after investing time into trying to gank. The EG mid did not have any kills in the first 20 minutes, and during that time DC were boosting their HP in preparation for the Sonic Wave. By 20 minutes ua Roman 'Resolut1on' Fominok had over 2,000 hit points on Razor, and with mk Martin 'Saksa' Sazdov playing an excellent Oracle the DC frontline were safe and sound.

EG did not see the early Aghanim Sceptre on ro Omar 'w33haa' Aliwi's Mirana and a crucial fight at 21 minutes, and it was the fight that essentially won EG the game. Universe's Faceless Void and Fear's Luna waste their ultimates due to Saksa on hand to keep Resolution's Raz0r alive.

DC turned on them, and with double starfall now on hand, EG's attempts to flee were in vain. From 21 minutes until the end of the game 15 minutes later DC only lost 4 heroes but killed 13, and EG were just always reacting instead of initiating the fights. 1-0 to DC.

Jakiro makes an appearance
Jakiro, one of the only heroes not to make an appearance at TI6, finally got some game time in game 2 of EG vs DC. It was drafted for W33haa but his team did not find room to push towers early on, one of the heroes largest advantages. Resolut1on's investment into a Shadow Blade on Slark also did not work out, but at 21 minutes DC had the fight of dreams, the perfect team fight. I could explain it but it would not do it justice, just so here is the video of the fight courtesy of ESL Dota2's Twitter.

It was the kind of move you dream of pulling off when you draft heroes with AOE ultimates, and as a result DC were riding high for the next 10 minutes, but a poor team fight at EG's tier 3s was the beginning of a downward spiral, one which DC wuld never recover from.

W33haa's Jakiro started to fall off after the 35 minute mark, and against the Sumail Medusa and Fear's Sven, DC had clearly missed their window to end the game. DC 1-1 EG.

The decider - Moo and Resolution rat EG to the max
The final game of the series was back and forth until a very nice "rat" at 17 minutes Digital Chaos to allow Resolution and Moo's Beastmaster to take out EG's tier 3 while DC distracted the rest of EG around the Roshan pit. It could have been avoided had Sumail's teleport gone through but a well placed X marks the spot by Misery's Kunkka cancelled it.

DC were pulling EG around all over the map, disrupting the TI5 champions game plan to 5-man with Fear's TerrorBlade. At 24 mins Resolut1on's Shadow Blade Slark forces two teleports top lane to defend their last top rax, while his team-mates took out EG's bottom tier 2.

DC were playing a very stealthy game not giving EG a chance for a straight fight, and Resolut1on's Slark was enjoying his free roam around EG's top lane. At 27 minutes after sneaky kills on Zai's Elder Titan and Universe's Tidehunter top lane by the Ukranian, DC had a free Roshan.

Two minutes later EG had had enough of this cat and mouse game and went straight down mid eliminating Resolution, but during the fight around DC's tier 3 us David 'Moo' Hull's had used Boots of Travel to go top lane to finish off EG's melee barracks. The strategy was working beautifully and DC rinsed and repeated the sneaky push while EG went for their base in another big clash several minutes later.

The big break for Evil Geniuses came after a 3-man Ravage by Universe in the bottom alne takes out DC's pusher Moo and W33haa's Ursa. The TI5 champions were then able to take an uncontested Roshan and at 40 minutes EG were looking good.

The final stand came at 45 minutes, EG go all in on DC's base while Moo went for the base race with his summons and Necro book. It was neck and neck and DC lost all their towers in the process but still hung on, forcing EG to buy back to defend their own tier 4 towers. It was all or nothing, DC charged down the mid lane for the final battle of the game, EG were defending their throne for dear life but attacks were coming in from all sides, this was a base race of epic proportions, and EG called "gg" just as their Throne crumbled to dust. PHENOMENAL game by Digital Chaos.
