The tournament is the follow-up to last April's i-League Invitational, held in ua Kiev, Ukraine, which saw just under half of its $100,000 prize pool going to first place cn Vici Gaming Reborn. StarLadder and BTS have had a long history of working together, which makes it no surprise that the organisers ultimately looked towards their broadcasting partner to help host their event.

Secret and Evil Geniuses both in attendance
This will be Evil Geniuses and Team Secret's first LAN appearances since the Manila Major after shuffling players a few days after the event. Both teams as a consequence had to go through the Open and Regional Qualifiers to qualify for TI6, a feat both teams accomplished while finishing first in their respective regions.

Evil Geniuses face up against cn CDEC.Youth, who placed 4th in the recent Nanyang Championship 2 after sending us Digital Chaos into the lower bracket.

us Complexity haven't played since June, with one of their more recent matches being a loss to Digital Chaos in the TI6 qualifiers. They are likely to be under heavy pressure for their match against Team Secret.
ru F.R.I.E.N.D.S. is a reformed Virtus Pro, with ua Andrey 'alwayswannafly' Bondarenko playing instead of by Artem 'fng' Barshack, who were dropped by their organization a few weeks ago after failing to qualify for The International 2016.

Navi, Fnatic and Digital Chaos who all finished in the top 6 of the Summit 5 last weekend will also be in attendance, and Fnatic should be eager for their rematch with Navi after getting knocked out in the lower bracket in a tightly contested best-of-3

The finals will be held from July 21st to July 24th.
