Open Qualifiers and Regionals, Secret and EviL Geniuses have vanquished them both. The TI5 winners and the Shanghai Major victors will both attend TI6.

eu Team Secret did have one minor scare in the Open Qualifiers versus Team PD (video below) who managed to get their throne down into the red, but a sneaky attempt to rat with a BKB Sven was stopped dead in its tracks.

us Evil Geniuses's Open Qualifiers were a breeze and the team looked exceptionally strong. us Saahil 'Universe' Arora was back to his old self on Dark Seer and with us Clinton 'Fear' Loomis on carry again, Evil Geniuses strolled to the Regionals.

Secret and EG look stronger after the changes
Despite some hoo-haa between analyst 7CkngMad and PPD about the "quality" of the NA Regionals - which only have 8 teams and not 10 - us compLexity Gaming's resurgence on Day Two meant a tie-breaker between them and Evil Geniuses. CoL's loss to us Friendship, Dedication, Love* on day 1 looked like it could cost them, but a solid win over world Planet Odd* put them them in joint first.

Unfortunately for compLexity they did not have the best of games, and the bo1 swiftly ended at 27 minutes thanks to the prowess of pk Sumail 'SumaiL' Syed Hassan's Timbersaw and Universe's Dark Seer.

Team Secret's EU qualifiers were also a contest, and the Shanghai Major champions were forced into a 3-way tie-breaker with the second Open Qualifier team cis Fantastic.Five and eu Ninjas in Pyjamas*, formerly known as No Diggity. Team Secret convincingly won both the tie-breaker games to take 1st place in the EU Regionals and avoid further matches based on time. In the tie-breakers us Sam 'Bulba' Sosale looked like a completely different player to the one we saw on EG, and it seems both Universe and Bulba have benefited from the switch.

Bad news for CIS - Only one team progresses to playoffs
The casualties in the very fierce European Regionals are quite substantial for the CIS region. ru Virtus.Pro*, ru Vega Squadron * and ru Team Empire all failed to place in the top 5 which means none of them will be part of The International 6.

What will make it more cruel is the fact that the only CIS team to progress to playoffs, Fantastic 5, actually includes two players that Vega and Virtus Pro decided they did not need; ru Pavel '9pasha' Khvastunov and ru Ilya 'Illidan Stormrage' Pivtsaev.
