A photo from WCA's press conference promoting this year's tournamentWCA yesterday released the groups for the 16-team event to be held later this month in Yinchuan, China. The event is a very curious mix of teams, with Filipino
TNC Predator and Execration joining the likes of 
Team Secret and 
CDEC Gaming on the participant list. Fnatic will also attend, but unfortunately find themselves once again drawn with Team Secret. At Dreamhack this past weekend, Empire showed the strength of their team with
Gleb 'Funn1k' Lipatnikov standing in for them, they were unable to clinch the title, going down to champions of the Major OG. The last time Team Empire were in China was for the MDL in the spring, where they finished second behind Team Secret, and now rather ironically are drawn with them in group A.
Team YouPorn - now officially known as Team YP - are also one of the attendees, which could make for some interesting headlines should they triumph. However, considering their group consists of LGD Gaming, Newbee and Leviathan, it might get a bit rough. Meanwhile Team Alliance will have a chance for redemption at the WCA 2015, after a frustrating event last year following Chessie's back problems.
Cloud 9 bringing a new roster?
One point of interest in the groupstage is group D, which has Cloud9 down as one of the four teams. Cloud9 recently disbanded their squad, and when we reached out to them said they weren't convinced they would find a new team given just how little time was left before the roster lock. Have they changed their mind? Or will we see a replacement?
There is some conflicting data on who is attending, we reached out to WCA to clarify but have yet to receive a response.
