eu OG have surprised everyone going all the way through the LB to reach the Top 3. However, this time they faced the TI5 winners who along side eu Team Secret have been looking like they are on another level than the competition. The match seemed to be all over after us Evil Geniuses annihilated OG 29-2 in the first game. But against all odds the European squad managed to pull of an incredible come back. (Image: TL.net)

After the level of play in the Winner's Bracket Finals yesterday, nearly everyone was expecting a rematch between EG and Secret in the Grand Finals. The TI5 Champions known for coming back from the Lower Bracket were expected to do that once again.

Half way through the first game it looked like EG are going to secure their spot in the Grand Finals incredibly quick. They destroyed OG on every lane dominating they on farm and kills tremendously. The Americans on the back of a super fat Templar Assassin, played by ca Artour 'Arteezy' Babaev, just ran over their opponents. The final score being 29-2 tells the whole story of the game.

A "game saving performance" from Moon on his Earthshaker

In the second game EG opted for a carry Sven and a very unusual last pick - a Tinker for pk Sumail 'SumaiL' Syed Hassan. With that they were set on split pushing, hiding in the trees and avoiding fights as much as possible. It all looked well for them in the beginning as they even managed to grab a first blood on their Tinker.

However, things started to turn around in the mid game. dk Johan 'BigDaddyN0tail' Sundstein started to move around early on his Gyro and it was OG who were finding kills and limiting the opponents farm this time. They weren't as dominant as EG in the previous game but they managed to put the TI 5 champions on the back foot.

As time went on Suma1L wasn't performing up to his standard. He got picked off multiple times and over extended quite a bit. Soon enough EG despite having a Tinker and a Beastmaster started to be closed down in their base.

OG's entire team played well but one individual to be highlighted is definitely ca David 'Moonmeander' Tan on his Earthshaker. The Canadian was outstanding, relentlessly hunting for EG heroes and picking them off solo over and over again. The casters even went as far as to call it "the game of his career" as he finished with the most damage done and most kills on his team.

EG tried to sneak Roshan a couple of times having very good heroes to zone their opponents from the pit but OG advantage was so overwhelming that it didn't even matter. The boys in green managed to seal the deal in 50 minutes after a very disciplined game from them.

"game saving performance", "game of his career" - the commentators praised Moon, rightfully so

Fighting Alchemist from Miracle the anwser to RTZ's AntiMage

As it was all on the line us Peter 'ppd' Dager opted for what probably in his mind was a safe choice. A draft aiming to take it late on the back of Arteezy's AM Empowered by Magnus handled by Suma1L. il Tal 'Fly' Aizik on the other hand decided for a mid game focused line up and was looking to be agressive once again.

The game started off slow and both sides were getting their early farm. After a while OG was looking to start putting pressure on Arteezy buta a couple of misplays cost them and OG failed to kill him. As time went on the European squad was putting on some pressure and was pulling ahead in gold but the AM was still uncontested.

It wasn't until Miracle who decided against a "Naga build" on his Alch bought a Shadow Blade. This item on his heavily farmed and fighting oriented Alchemist allowed him to hunt for Arteezy and kill him off solo.

On the back of that OG took a bigger lead and were able to converge onto EG. Soon enough they had such an advantage that they managed to take two lanes of Rax. After that it was only the matter of time and as EG lost their last fight in an action of desperation the GG was called.

Just like that OG managed to go all the way from the very first round of the Losers Bracket into the Grand Finals of the first ever Dota 2 Major. Now they will go up against Teams Secret and battle for the title in a Best of Five match.
