It might come as a shock to many dedicated fans to hear that Natus Vincere have parted ways with their Dota 2 roster. Na'Vi have been an absolute staple of the Dota 2 scene, being the team to take the monumental first International back in 2011. In recent weeks, the team failed to qualify for the Frankfurt Fall Major, prompting the drop of the roster.

Na'Vi's well-known TI1 winning roster

After a somewhat disappointing performance at TI4, the team went into

a year-long roster shuffle

. After trying out a total of seven new players, the team failed to find their synergy. At TI5, the Na'Vi squad placed 13-16th, their

worst performance at any International

. Fan favourites since the early days of Dota 2, both Dendi and XBOCT will be teamless for the first time in 5 years.

However, this

does not mark the end of the road

for the organisation in Dota 2. The team formally announced that within the next week, they will be making more announcements about a Dota 2 roster.

We will strike back and it is possible that you may get to see the re-emergence of some familiar faces in the scene. So be sure to follow our website and be up-to-date with all the relevant information regarding the new line-up - Na'Vi's official announcement

The COO of the organisation also made comment:

After the protracted series of failures of our team, we have to take measures and with hard feelings fully disband the squad. On behalf of all the fans and Na 'Vi staff I express gratitude to the guys for their work and emotions, which they've granted to us all the time. However, sooner or later, the time of old heroes passes. The fate gives us new challenges, which we need to accept and prove that Na`Vi is a team of champions. - Igor "caff" Syndorenko

The drop of the roster leaves many talented players without a team - it can only be a matter of time before we hear news of more roster changes. The Na'Vi line-up, the date of disbanding:

ua Alexander 'XBOCT' Dashkevich
ua Danil 'Dendi' Ishutin
ua Gleb 'Funn1k' Lipatnikov
ru Akbar 'SoNNeikO' Butaev
