C9 qualifies for MLG World Finals and makes it official they are NA's number 2

Cloud9 qualified for their second LAN event yesterday evening after an action-replay of an encounter between the pair in the qualifiers for the Nanyang Championships. A 3-0 beating of Digital Chaos was on the cards again for Cloud9, further cermenting their title as NA's second-best team behind Evil Geniuses. The victory also completes the list of the eight teams for the upcoming MLG World Finals next month.

OG's 3-`1 triumph over CISR in the European qualifiers, the MLG World Finals' list of attendees looks solid, especially with LGD Gaming also part of the list of invites. The event will see six of the top 8 from TI5 head to New Orleans, where they will be joined by two of the best upcoming squads in Monkey Business and Cloud 9.

The MLG World Finals is to be held from the 16th-18th October at the New Orleans Theater, and will mark MLG's 100th LAN event. The prize pool for the tournament is $250,000, with a workshop bundle pending release. Stay tuned for information about the grid.
