Also announced are the final two direct invites to this August's prestigious million dollar tournament: Moscow Five and MUFC.
Now, eight of the best teams from both the Western and Eastern competitive circuits that were not directly invited to Seattle for, have instead had their talent and potential recognised with invites to participate in the online qualifiers for the two wildcard slots in the main event. The invited teams are as follows:
West Qualifier Invites
Quantic Gaming
mTw
mousesports
NEXT.kz
Keita Gaming
Virtus.Pro
Team Infused
zNation
East Qualifier Invites
World Elite
Mineski-HyperX
MSI-EvoGT
TongFu
Aeon
Duskbin
Ice
MiTH.Trust
The qualifiers are due to get underway on Wednesday, June 6th. With matches across two regions of the globe, the live coverage is set to run for almost 24 hours a day, everyday until Sunday, where the two victors will be crowned.
All of the matches for both the West and East online qualifiers will be best-of-three affairs, up until the Grand Finals, which will both be a best-of-five series. Both the West and East qualifiers will also employ a double elimination grid, thereby giving all the teams involved several chances to make their way to the top of the pile.
joinDOTA will be hosting the West Qualifiers, and - as ever - you'll be able to catch all the action live from this Wednesday, right here with your dedicated, passionate host, Toby 'TobiWan' Dawson.
The matches for the East Qualifiers will be hosted and broadcast by our friends over at GosuGamers, with David 'GoDz' Parker set to do the commentary.
Valve will also be enabling Dota TV for these matches, meaning that anyone with access to the Dota 2 client can spectate the games live through the client and potentially stream/broadcast it for themselves, if they so wish.
