CDEC Gaming and
Team Random* were given the higher odds in their respective matches by community bets on Dota 2 Lounge. However, Lady Luck did not shine today as
EHOME and
Energy Pacemaker* fought tooth and nail and managed to rise the victor. Take a quick look inside to see how the action unfolded in the first day of Chinese playoffs.
Upper Bracket
Fan 'rOtk' Bai
CDEC Gaming, who came into the playoffs with a perfect run thus far.
EHOME however, only had 2 wins and 2 draws against teams that many thought should have been an easy win.As it turned out EHOME's captain,
Bai 'rOtK' Fan, came into the playoffs with a clear plan in mind. He had learned much from the past two days and lead his team to dominate over CDEC.
Chen 'Cty' Tianyu even set a record on his Storm Spirit in Game 1, being the fastest pro player to farm up a Bloodstone in 6.84 at 15 minutes.Game 2 saw rOtk pick a Dark Seer for himself. Many, including the casters doubted if this was the right choice, especially after he gave away first blood. Nevertheless, rOtk bounced back, making the first blood his one and only death.
EHOME held on to their early control with an iron grip and rOtk redeemed himself in the final clash where he vacuumed 4 out of 5 CDEC players into his Wall of Replica, the Queen of Pain's Sonic Wave, Gyrocopter's Call Down, as well as Witch Doctor's Death Ward, stamping EHOME's dominance in the Chinese Qualifier Playoffs and securing their spot in the Grand Finals.
Vacuum into 4 UltimatesLower Bracket
As for the lower bracket,
Team Random* had the odds in their favours. In an effort to continue their run in the qualifiers, captain
Su 'super' Peng picked up a Chen. This was only the second time that hero was picked in the China qualifiers. He also picked a Rubick with whom his team had very much success so far. Wings were struggling in the beginning. However, they kept their cool and continued farming. This ultimately culminated in securing game 1 against
Energy Pacemaker*. Their glee was shortlived as EP decided to run a fast "group-up-and-push-hard" strat in the next two series. It caught Wings by surprise and as a result they had no response to it. The Open Qualifier Winners had to bow to those that were hand-picked by Valve themselves, who will go on to meet CDEC in the Lower Bracket Finals tomorrow.
Do you think EP stands a chance against CDEC, who has beaten them flat all the 3 times they have met previously?
