An EU inhouse league with $10,000 prize pool launched by Loda and Funn1k

posted by GrandDesign,
Exciting news came from se Jonathan 'Loda' Berg who announced on reddit that a long awaited inhouse (FPL) league established by himself, ua Gleb 'Funn1k' Lipatnikov and with the help of Faceit and the coverage of GD studio will take place the next few months. It will provide a relaxed environment for players to practice but also have fun and great entertainment to viewers who probably want to see more interesting games. Moreover it will give to new players unknown players to prove themselves and probably get an opportunity in the competitive scene.

According to Loda it was the desire of many players who needed good games for practice but also a relaxed environment that led to the creation of the new inhouse league. Their effort was encouraged by Faceit which provided them a client and notably a substantial prize pool of 10,000 Euro. Specifically Loda mentioned:
Few weeks ago I was approached by some players that wanted to discuss the possibility of creating a new Inhouse League where we could just get good games and practice that would actually mirror pro games. Somehow I was elected as one of the people to make this happen, and with the help of Funn1k the true backbone of the project

Season 1 of The FACEIT Pro League starts today, 13th of April and it will last until the 13th of May. Most players that will appear in the starting list of FPL will be from top European professional teams but also players without a team that are considered as highly-skilled. Loda pinpoints that:
The initial playerpool of the league is made by players coming from Europe/CIS since the league will be played on EU servers and we agreed to vouch only those players able to guarantee a certain competitive level which for us remains the unique and essential element to keep an Inhouse Legue project successful and entertaining for both players and community.

Furthermore every player has a chance of playing with the pros and probably find a place later in the competitive scene trough the Faceit ladder system, which gives an opportunity to the talented ones to start their competitive "journey". You can find more details and read the full Loda's announcement here, while the official site is available under this link.

Finally, Dota TV tickets will be completely free and full coverage will be provided by GD Studio with the help of various Dota2 personalities through weekly shows and castings.

Do you think that the FPL will bring a breath of fresh air into the scene?
