Competition heating up in the D2CL China**

posted by woodshrew,
The fighting has already broken out in D2CL China, but cn Invictus Gaming who are fresh from their MAS victory have only just begun their journey. However, tomorrow sees a major bout with cn PSG.LGD for pride and valuable points. Also pre-qualifier team cn CDEC Gaming could challenge for a LAN spot if they sink cn HyperGloryTeam*, a team who are already taking on water.
The D2CL Season V ticket also comes with a Skywrath Mage set

***Update*** It seems the D2CL schedule was perhaps not completely accurate, and the VG vs IG match did not take place this morning

Two of the strongest lineups in the East have been playing up to expectations, as cn Vici Gaming and cn PSG.LGD are already ahead of the pack. Vici Gaming has simply not missed a beat with their new hard carry cn Chen 'Hao' Zhihao, and are in first place with an impressive 10-2 record.

LGD has not played as many games, but their high caliber play has mirrored Vici's. They have a 6-2 record so far and have played well against the top tier squads.

Nightmare continues for Newbee

The reigning International champions have continued to struggle after adding cn Lin 'Son Goku' Shi Yang to replace Hao who left for VG. They have underperformed against the lower tier squads, splitting bo2 series against cn CDEC Gaming and cn HyperGloryTeam*.

Unable to rally in their recent matchup against the powerhouse Vici squad, Newbee is 5th in the group, with a 2-4 record. They must turn it around in the following games if they hope to make it to the top 4, but further losses against the weaker teams will keep them from progressing to the playoffs.

Young guns CDEC and VG.P

CDEC has impressed, currently sitting in 3rd place in a very competitive group stage. So far they've been 2-0'd by VG and LGD, but that is to be expected. Unfazed, they bounced back to take 2 games from cn EHOME, upsetting the veteran-clad roster. They have also trounced cn Vici Gaming Reborn* to hold a cool 5-5 record. Unfortunately, the other finalist from the pre-qualifiers has not played as well. VG.P is sitting at the bottom of the entire group, with a miserable 1-7 record. They may still turn things around, as 4 of their losses have come against LGD and Vici, but it will be a struggle to dig themselves out of their hole.

..Wait, where's iG?

cn Invictus Gaming are returning home from Malaysia crowned as champions, having dismantled the competition and strutted across the stage. cn Xu 'BurNIng' Zhilei has picked up right where he left off with DK/BG, farming at a torrid pace and imposing his will on the game. iG looks rejuvenated; cn Luo 'Ferrari_430' Feichi's recent stretch of performances, particularly on Storm Spirit, has been masterful. Fresh off of a major tournament win, iG may very well come into the group stages confident and poised to climb high into the standings. They have yet to play a game so far in D2CL China, so be sure to follow if you havent watched their recent scorching play.
