ESL One 2015 qualifier details announced!

posted by Matthew Elmas,
ESL One have announced the details of the upcoming qualifier for their 2015 LAN event in Frankfurt, Germany. The event, which will take place in June, will host eight teams who will play for over $150,000 dollars in the Commerzbank-Arena. These teams will include three yet to be announced direct invitees and five qualifying teams from around the world. ESL One 2015 will also include an open pre-qualifier, giving any team an opportunity to qualify for the main event.

Three teams will receive direct invites to the ESL One LAN finals in Frankfurt later this year; they will be supplemented by five qualifying teams, who will compete in three separate regional qualifiers in Europe, Southeast Asia and China. The regional qualifiers themselves will be split into two stages, an open pre-qualifier and a main qualifier, with the top three teams from Europe and the top team from Southeast Asia and China qualifying for the main event.

The open qualifier will give any team, no matter how established, the chance to compete for their shot at the 2015 ESL One title. Each region will have an open pre-qualifier, with the top four teams moving on to face the seeded teams in the main qualifier.

Sign ups for the open qualifier begin next week.
