The clash of WEC and i-league

posted by Vekus,
After the clash of the ESL One, The International and MLG this summer, resulting in MLG removing Dota 2 from their event, the community hoped for something like that never happening again. This time however, the LAN finals of two Chinese events will clash in form of the WEC and the i-league, with neither of them showing any will to cancel their own event.

With the WEC LAN finals being scheduled for September 6-8 and the i-league finals taking place from September 4-7, the next two International events clash. Other than the oversaturation in the summer, this isn't the case with the Chinese scene, as the issue is simply poor scheduling.
2P managed to reach out to both of the event organizers, but it seems neither of them is willing to reschedule:

The LAN final is confirmed, and we won’t change our schedule.

WEC

We are 100% sure that our LAN final will be held as scheduled.

i-league

This makes it seem that nothing will change, leaving the teams to decide which event they would rather attend. However, with i-league raising the biggest prize pool for any Chinese tournament ever, it is more than likely that WEC will lose out the most, as they only managed to raise $96,000 which is less than the half of the prize pool that i-league puts on the table.
At least cn NewBee already confirmed their attendance at WEC after getting granted a free invite following their victory at TI4.
