Team Coast today announced that they have added the roster of up and coming
Monomaniac eSports to their family of gaming teams. The Swedish team caught the attention of many last month after they came out of nowhere and swept through the Fragbite Masters 2014 tournament, finishing an impressive 2nd place.
Team Coast, who have been thriving in the North American scene in League of Legends, will now expand their field of operations to Dota 2 and "Team Coast has high hopes for the team, and feel that they have the potential to be one of the best Dota 2 teams in the world". The Swedish team Drakdräpare (Dragonslayers) got picked up by Monomaniac eSports in April 2014 and has since then been on the rise, with success in the Golden Esports League and Fragbite Masters 2014.
In Fragbite Masters 2014, they made it through the qualifiers and started out in the consolation bracket of the tournament. After defeating
Meet Your Makers and
Next.kz they made it to the playoffs where they vanquished
Power Rangers. With an impressive 2-0 win in the semi-finals against
Fnatic they made it to the grand finals, where they eventually had to yield before
Rox.KIS.
The first big challenge for them while known as
Team Coast, will be the European qualifiers for the International 4 which kicks off this very Saturday, 24th of May. They will play their first game at 13.20 CEST against MYM.
