FATA- issues apology for dodgy remake

posted by Malystryx.GDS,
Fata- has issued an apology on Reddit following his decision to disconnect from the DreamLeague match versus Rox.Kis after levelling up the wrong skill for his Shadow Fiend. The decision - which was made without consulting an admin, ruined Rox.Kis' early Roshan strat. Rox.Kis won the remake but Sigma attracted a lot of negative press in the process.

The decision by Fata- to disconnect following his mistake came at an extremely bad time for Rox.Kis as by the time they were made aware Sigma were insisting on a remake, they were already 5-manning Roshan at level one.

Adrian "FATA" Trinks statement opened with the following:

As most of you know, there was an issue at the beginning of today's match against RoX.KIS. I accidentally miss skilled (my unmute hotkey on teamspeak was the same as skilling presence of the dark lord) and disconnected immediately because of it – without consulting the admins first. This was a huge mistake on my side and i apologize for this. We didn't think it through properly, as a miss-skill can crucially change a whole game around from the get go (especially in this occasion on shadow fiend).

By forcing a remake we took RoX.KIS' chance at taking a lvl 1 Roshan. Another problem was that we took the admins ability of making a decision because of the misunderstanding that we were unable to disconnect. I told my team to tell them that i missclicked my spell but it came across the wrong way. We accepted every admin decision afterwards and were ready to accept the punishment for the initial remake aswell.

Shots were fired between the two teams over Twitter, with Sebastien "7ckngMad" Debs stating that the team would have checked Roshan anyway if the game had continued. Multiple threads quickly sprung up on Reddit, with Sigma's reputation being called into disrepute. Some viewers believed Fata- had faked internet issues to cover up for his mistake, but the chatlog in the game clearly shows that Sigma informed Rox.Kis the remake was due to Fata's misclick. The decision to make an official apology may come too little too late for Sigma, but given the circumstances it was better to make the apology public than wait for the matter to be taken completely out of their own hands by the DreamLeague administration.

Adrian "FATA" Trinks went on to say:

Regardless of whether or not we could've prevented them to actually claim the roshan, we were trying to solve the issue to an extent that every party involved would be satisfied with. The admins proposed a completely new draft but RoX wanted the same line-ups. We were fine either way and played the game out.

We are deeply sorry, especially for causing any inconveniences for the tournament – which has been run very smoothly so far and is run rather professionally – but even more so for causing trouble for RoX.KIS. We hope that the match was satisfactory for everyone regardless, the tournament, RoX.KIS and most of all for you, the fans and viewers. We enjoyed the match thoroughly and hope that everyone else shares the sentiment.

Things have been said and done in the meanwhile, but – and this is in no means an excuse – it gets very emotional very quickly when things become competitive. In no means do we feel any resentment towards RoX.KIS, especially taking into consideration that an old friend and teammate is captaining the their squad.

It remains unknown whether there will be any repercussions for FATA's decision to quit the game without consulting a DreamLeague admin. Rox.Kis went onto win the match despite the remake which may at least lighten the burden on Sigma's shoulders, the question is will DreamLeague treat the matter so lightly?

Do Sigma deserve to be punished by DreamLeague?
