Liquid Fluff: crash and burn, I'm done waiting

After declaring that he has never been the true captain of Team Liquid, us Brian
"FLUFFNSTUFF" Lee has released a lengthy blog post declaring his intention to become the undisputed leader of his team or separate from the Liquid squad entirely. He discussed his dissatisfaction with the Liquid lineup, both in and out of gameplay.

"Playing a game of Dota 2 with 4 other players isn't a team. A team is a group of 5 players who trust and respect each other and work hard to reach universal goals set by the leader."

Throughout his blog, Fluff made numerous assertions about the proper way to lead a team and how Team Liquid has suffered for lack of strong leadership. He also stated that Team Liquid historically uses individuals as scapegoats (singling out us ixmike88 and us Korok) rather than blaming the root cause: poor leadership by himself and others.

Additionally, Fluff increasingly feels a loss of respect from his team and the community:

"I feel like I've fallen far from prominence and that I've lost the respect that I once had[...] These days, I'm just that one guy who plays support[...]. I'm a rather negligible character these days and it does honestly damage my ego."

Fluff stated that his prior squad, Team FIRE (later CompLexity Gaming), was a far superior example of what he is looking for in an experience, both in and out of gameplay. According to Fluff, Team Liquid is not a squad of good friends, and they have the least out-of-game synergy of any team on the professional circuit. He feels this lack of strong friendship leads to a lack of trust and understanding in his ability to captain, and he does not feel reciprocation in willingness to become better friends outside of practice.

He also believes us BuLba and us Korok had negative early impressions of him personally, which led to his resignation as the primary drafter and captain of the team due to trust issues. He gave ca TC the role with the intention of growing back into the captain's seat eventually, but over time he felt himself more timid in the face of his team's unwillingness to risk failure and took a backseat approach, which he regrets. He even admits hoping for Liquid's failure in order to find the right opportunity to seize the driver's wheel when the team has nothing to lose, so that he can make drafts and calls with his team less concerned about potential failure.

Fluff ended the post by stating that he would be taking a leadership role in the near future… if not at Liquid, then with some other team:

"If that means leaving everything I have behind me and building from the ground up, I'll do it. If it means that I have to disqualify myself from this years International, then I'll chance it.[...]You follow me or you get out of my way."
