Assembly Summer usually features around 5,500-6,000 attendees with about half of those taking part in the LAN party. It is referred to as a "demo party" due to its historical focus on demonstrating feats of coding, design and composition excellence, as various groups from around the world gather there to present their creations.

And regarding Assembly Winter:

Assembly Winter is Finland's largest LAN party combined with the feeling of Assembly (Summer). Our winter event focuses purely on gaming. The goal of the party is to be more than just a "LAN party": a big program featuring amateur and professional gaming competitions, sports, poker, big prizes, and many more fun activities makes it a true Assembly experience.

The tournament will run from the 31st of January until the 1st of February. The first day will feature a jam packed session of all group stage matches and the second day will feature the semis and the finals. Assembly 2014 will be hosted in the lovely Helsinki Exhibition and Convention Centre. The Centre hosts over 70 trade shows a year and has an annual audience of over 1 million. Both local and foreign teams are expected to be in attendance at this year's LAN party.

The tournament will feature a double elimination group stage, followed by a single elimination best-of-three semi-final. Both the semi-final and the final will also be a best-of-three series. To begin with there will be two groups with four teams. Participation is granted through direct invitation or through online qualifiers. The tournament will not have BYOC available.
