ESL One Fall: Virtus.pro remain unbeaten

posted by Smyke,
A flawless victory spree by Virtus.pro makes the Russian organisation the best team of the Group Stage. Four teams have already been eliminated. Who will put VP's streak to an end? The first half of the ESL One Fall 2021 has concluded with the Group Stage coming to an end this Tuesday. This means that the four lowest placing teams out of the 12 participants already have to go home. The squads that did not make the cut are Creepwave, Thunder Predator, Team Liquid and SG esports.

At the same time, the remaining teams determined their starting position in the upcoming Playoffs. The tournament itself runs until 29 August and has a total prize pool of $400,000.

Virtus.pro remain untouchable

On top of the Group Stage standings are Virtus.pro and beastcoast who both finished first in their respective group. Especially VP have shown an impeccable performance so far. The team managed to win every single one of their games, winning Group A with an impressive score of 10-0.

Especially their first match against T1 was a feast to watch. The game lasted for 65 minutes and in terms of networth, T1 were the clear leaders with an advantage of over 35k gold at one point. VP were still able to snatch away the victory as they invaded the enemy's Ancient while luring away some of their defenders.

VP are going to face PSG.LGD next in the Upper Bracket on Thursday. Additionally, Team Spirit will be facing Team Empire in the Lower Bracket, fighting to remain in the tournament. All matches will be aired on the official Twitch channel of the ESL.
