Techlabs 2013 - A Summary
The first Techlabs Cup was hold in March and ended very surprisingly. Even though Natus Vincere was in it, they only finished third - leaving behind only Virtus.pro. Team Empire was the first team to secure a slot for the final event by defeating iCCup. It was a breakthrough for iCCup back then. Na'Vi, after this unexpected loss, came back to win Techlab's second installment: In an event with only two participants, they beat Power Rangers 2:1.
Another cup was hold in Kiev in August, this time without a big favourite. Terrible Terrible Damage (ex-iCCup) took it by defeating PR as well as roX.KIS and Cascade. Last month Na'Vi returned to take the latest edition against PR, Sigma.int, and Cascade.
Going into the finals
Out of the cup winners, the disbanded TTD will not participate at the grand final. Na'Vi winning two of the competitions opened up another slot. Three times finalist Power Rangers was an obvious choice to challenge Empire and Na'Vi. The last slot was given to the recently reformed Virtus.pro. They will compete in a double elimination, best of three format.
