When Evil Geniuses launched their new website a few weeks ago, a teaser regarding the next season of the Dota 2 League was seen on the front page (Link). The teaser gave some details regarding the new season which include 16 teams vying for $50,000 of prize money and an offline finals at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas. More info on the prestigous league has been released today. An additional $40,000 have been set aside to help teams travel to Las Vegas.

A big difference in season four is that it features teams from Asia as opposed to being limited to North American and European teams. However the two regions won't be playing each other right off the bat, instead they will be split into two different division. Teams from each division play each other before the two best teams from each division head into the live playoffs.

The first ranked team after divisional play is guaranteed a slot in the live playoffs while second to fifth place team will have to play in a bubble race playoff for their chance to head to Las Vegas.

Group stage play are scheduled to start on the 14th of October and will run through to December when the playoffs kick off.
