Dota 2 Super League Ends

posted by Sun_Tzu,
The Grand Finals of the Dota 2 Super League between cn TongFu and cn DK have ended and the winner has walked away 500,000 RMB (~$81,000) richer. The game was a re-match of their Alienware Cup game of yesterday in which DK eliminated TongFu in 5-6th position with a 2-1 score.

Up next for the D2SL will be the relegation matches, to be played on July 20th-21st with cn ViCi Gaming, cn RattleSnake, cn RisingStars and the possibly disqualified cn For.Love playing for their place in the second seasons of the competition, which will be announced at a later date.

cn TongFu vs. cn DK

Game 1

DK sent their cn Zhilei 'BurNing' Xu Anti-Mage along with a Lich support to the mid lane, causing TongFu to rotate Lina to support cn Zhang 'Mu' Pan's Storm Spirit, who were able to out-harass and negate the Lich Sacrifice advantage. This left cn Chen 'Hao' Zhihao on the Lifestealer soloing the top lane against cn Fan 'r0tk' Bai's Magnus and a Shadow Demon support, getting the better of the lane especially after r0tk rotated to mid to lose his life. Finally on the bottom lane cn Junhao 'Super' Xie on the Puck got good levels if not good farm against a cn Yang 'KingJ' Zou Naga Siren backed up by the support Visage.

Once TongFu got the ball rolling the kills kept on coming for them, quickly building up an advantage by winning small skirmishes around the map. As they grouped up and started pushing, they took the early map advantage before splitting up in the face of resistance, using their advantage to abuse the fact that DK could only react in one place at a time.

DK's usual answer would be to rely on BurNing to carry them through their comeback, but with the multiple cores and the Lifestealer and Storm Spirit ganking duo, BurNing did not find the space to come back after his slightly weak start, allowing all three cores of TongFu to claim the highest positions on net worth. By 22 minutes in TongFu broke the base and by 25 minutes DK conceded the 'GG', with a 22-5 kill difference in favour of TongFu.

Game 2

For the second game, DK sent BurNing on his Weaver along with a Nyx Assassin up top to face off with the Puck of Mu, who had the potential of support from cn Wang 'Banana' Jiao playing the Chen in his safelane jungle. This left KingJ on the Batrider to face Super on the Slark at the mid lane, while Hao took his Anti-Mage along with the Rubick support to the bottom lane, where they faced off against r0tk's Nature's Prophet backed up by a pulling Visage.

Once again r0tk gave up the first blood, helping Hao off to a great start, as TongFu were already getting the best of the laning stages, especially with the jungler advatange. While kills were traded fairly evenly, the concern was that Hao simply got out of control, as he had good farm and three early kills, getting an early Battlefury and snowballing hard from there on, building into the old ua Alexander 'XBOCT' Dashkevich early Vladimir's Offering build, going for all out split-pushing while his team kept DK in check with only four heroes.

Falling fast behind, DK called the 'GG' after losing one more engagement at mid lane at 22 minutes, ending the game at 24-11 with Hao nearly doubling up the farm of r0tk, who was the most farmed hero on DK's side.

Game 3

For the deciding game, TongFu sent Hao on Razor along with Naga Siren and Visage supports in order to face off against r0tk's Lifestealer at top lane, while BurNing on the Alchemist dodged to the bottom lane together with the Shadow Demon and offensive jungling Enchantress, which caused KingJ on the solo Enigma to have to abandon his lane for a bit, until the TongFu supports rotated down, forcing DK's supports off the lane in order to try and help r0tk who was losing the top lane badly. This in turn opened things up for Mu on the Queen of Pain to claim first blood at mid against Super's Magnus, followed by BurNing dying on the bottom lane, as TongFu got off to another strong start.

Keeping up the aggression and using Banana's Naga Siren to split push safely, TongFu were able to keep DK reacting to their moves around the map and forcing them to sacrifice any potential r0tk had of coming back into the game as well as most of Super's potential in order for BurNing to find some farm on his Alchemist.

Unfortunately for DK, the TongFu lineup was designed to not only win teamfights, but to control a single farmed carry through the power of Razor's Static Link. As they lost map control and fell behind on farm, DK were pressued into taking fights which they couldn't win, losing 3-0 at 23 minutes outside of their base followed a minute later by a 4-0 lost fight, permitting TongFu to break the base. While DK struggled on for a bit longer, by 29 minutes they had to call the 'GG' as they were in the process of losing their second lane of Barracks.

TongFu take out DK in three straight games in a very convincing fashion.
