Malthe 'Biver' Winther has decided to retire from competitive Dota 2 with immediate effect. His latest team Tundra Esports announced the decision on Wednesday. After thinking about his future over the past few weeks, the Dane came to the conclusion that he wants to focus on his studies: "Over the last few weeks, I have been putting a lot of thought into my future as a Dota 2 player. It was an extremely hard decision but, in the end, I feel like this is the correct decision for me and my team. As of today, I have decided to retire from professional Dota 2 to focus on my studies", he explained in a statement on the official website of Tundra Esports.

Anthony Graham, the General Manager of Tundra Esports, added: "Biver has been a pleasure to work with since he joined the organisation back in January of this year. We wish him all the best in the next chapter of his life outside Dota 2 and fully support him on his decision to pursue his education".

During his career in Dota 2, Biver played for several well-known esports organisations like Natus Vincere, Ninjas in Pyjamas and Chaos Esports Club. His biggest success at a Dota 2 Major was a 7th to 9th place with Team Spirit at ESL One Birmingham 2018.

The current roster of Tundra Esports joined the British organisation only two months ago after competing under the name mudgolems for a short while. The team placed 6th in the DPC21: S1 - EU Upper Division, barely missing the qualification for the ONE Esports Singapore Major after losing three out of four tiebreakers against Team Liquid and OG.

Tundra Esports is now searching for a new player in preparation for the new season of the DreamLeague DPC Upper Division in Europe. The organisation intends to provide an update regarding its roster in the coming weeks.

The current roster of Tundra Esports consists of:
