EG hits European servers
Another reason is to see Evil Geniuses compete against European teams for the first time since the pandemic started. At the peak of COVID-19, EG's players weren't allowed to travel and therefore had to play in North America. However, for OMEGA League they decided to play in Europe.
Abed 'Abed' Yusop is their only player who won't be able to compete on European servers, but the squad has already hired a replacement: Danil 'gpk' Skutin, AS Monaco Gambit' midlaner will take over, because his squad isn't involved in any online competitions.
ex-Cloud9 against EG on Day Two
Evil Geniuses will play against the former Cloud9 core in their first match: Rasmus 'rASmus' Fillipsen, Johan 'pieliedie' Åström and Marcus 'Ace' Hoelgaard founded 5 men, a new squad with Andreas 'Xibbe' Ragnemalm and Rasmus 'Chessie' Blomdin.

5 men is one of two teams that made it through the Closed Qualifier. Vikin.gg, the second team that made it through the qualifier, will play against OG on Day One.
Only two teams won't compete during the first weekend: Nigma and FlyToMoon. The group stage will take place over the next three weeks and ends on September 6.
