The WePlay! Tug of War: Mad Moon kicks off this Wednesday and despite not being part of the DPC, it features several interesting teams and storylines. Let's take a look at some promising matches of Mad Moon.

A chance for Nigma's comeback?

Nigma have experienced many lows over the last months. Once one of the most dangerous team in the entire scene, they recently failed to make it through the latest Major and Minor qualifiers. Some fans were disappointed that Nigma does not seem to recover from their low point. There have even been theories on and demands for a roster change.

Mad Moon could be a fitting opportunity for Nigma to prove their skill again. The tournament is not a part of the DPC, therefore the pressure should be signifiantly lower for all teams. While the recent True Sight episode only gave a small glimpse into the players' heads, it raised the impression that the team had issues dealing with stressful situations.

Nigma recently faced both Team Secret and Aggressive Mode in the DPC qualifiers. While they stood no chance against reigning Major champions Secret, they overcame AM once 2-0, but also lost another series 2-0. Their chances for a high ranking are not too narrow and a small success story might fuel their spirit again.

Dendi versus Puppey

The winners of WePlay! Tug of War: Dire AsiaRoyal Never Give Up had to withdraw from the tournament. Their replacement: Danil 'Dendi' Ishutin's newly founded team B8.

The new challenger B8 will play the opening match against Team Secret. This also entails an encounter of Dendi an his former team-mate Clement 'Puppey' Ivanov. This matchup is always a highlight and it will be especially interesting to watch, since it will be B8's first appearance at an offline tournament.

Aggressive Mode – A promising squad?

Natus Vincere were not able to attend the tournament either and get replaced by Aggressive Mode. AM is a newly formed European squad that caught some attention in the latest qualifiers lately. They played their way to fourth place of ESL One Los Angeles 2020 qualifiers, even performing better than Nigma, Alliance and Team Liquid.

Also juicy: AM will play their opening match against Virtus.pro, meaning an encounter between Ilya 'Lil' Ilyuk and his former organisation. Find additional information about the tournament here.

What are you looking forward to at Mad Moon?
