After two days of The International 2019 nothing is decided. Yet, there are some teams that turn out to be more promising than others.

Liquid in free fall

Team Liquid needed a win against PSG.LGD desperately, because they've only won one series so far. However, the Chinese squad overwhelmed the European outfit and beat them in both games, although Liquid actually had a very good second game.

This means Liquid is only on the seventh place right now with 3 points. Only two teams have shown a worse performance in the group stage. Keen Gaming lost both their games today against the European squads of Alliance and Team Secret. Chaos Esports Club conceded their only matchup of the day to Mineski.

The team surrounding Lasse 'Matumbaman' Urpalainen will play against Keen tomorrow in a match that is crucial to both teams. Whoever loses the game could face elimination by the end of group stage. Liquid could still make it to the Upper Bracket, but they need to win their remaining matches.

OG on their way to defend their title?

OG recovered over the last months after a shaky start into the season. But still nobody expected the reigning TI champions to have such an astonishing performance in the group stage. They've bested Evil Geniuses, Ninjas in Pyjamas by the end of Day Two and placed first in Group B surpassing favourite Vici Gaming. OG have still to play their match against VG, but they seem to be in great shape and ready to fulfill their mission at TI9.

As the most dominant team from China, VG have shown great performances so far, but slipped against Evil Geniuses. What is more, the South American squad from Infamous staged a little upset against VG, forcing a 1-1 in their series. Although the Chinese are still the favourite to win the group and a top contender forr the Aegis, they've shown some vulnerability on Day Two.

Infamous didn't look too great on Day One, but they stepped up their game tremendously: besides a tie against VG, they also finished 1-1 against Natus Vincere and even won against Fnatic. With these results, Infamous occupy fifth place in their group – the Upper Bracket is still reachable for the squad surrounding Adrian 'Wisper' Cesperes. They were surpassed by EG who, as mentioned before, staged a comeback against VG in their last match of the day.

EG performed underwhelmingly before the match against the Chinese powerhouse but redeemed themselves at the last instance. With this result, they are currently among the four best teams in Group B.

What do you think about Day Two of TI9?
