The Dream Team: 5 NA players for the perfect TI stack

posted by Brasozial,
It was a long season and we have had enough time to pick our favourite players on every position. This is why we have started a new series in which we present the best players on each position by region. The second region is North America.

The carry

It would be an obvious decision to recruit an Evil Geniuses player on every position. I mean, they're the only NA squad that actually qualified for The International 2019 directly. And on top of that, they are one of the best teams in the world.

However, at least on the carry position there are some players who are actually a good match for EG's Artour 'Arteezy' Babaev. Let's start with Yawar 'YawaR' Hassan: he switched to carry position and proved why he has as much talent as his younger brother.

The 22-year-old player is one of the reasons why Forward Gaming is still a favourite to win the NA qualifier. There aren't many carries that can compete with him in North America - except for Roman 'Resolut1on' Fominok.

The Ukrainian player is J.Storm's diamond. It wouldn't be the first time that the star player from Eastern Europe carries a weaker team to TI and through a great run during the playoffs. However, the competition with Arteezy is tough. The Canadian carry is not just mechanically skilled, but also confident and calm in decisive moments. He's one of many players still waiting to lift the Aegis, but he's also one of few players who'd deserve the trophy.

The midlaner

Let's be honest: Linus 'Limmp' Blomdin and Eric 'Ryoya' Dong are definitely very skilled midlaners that can 1v1 many pros on a good day. However, they can't compete with the king of their region.

Sumail 'SumaiL' Syed Hassan is not just the best midlaner in North America, but one of the best midlaners in the world or even of all time. He's been part of the professional scene for more than three years although he's just 19 years old.

The offlaner

It would be the easiest decision to just pick Gustav 's4' Magnusson for the offlane, but actually we found a better option this time. s4 is a great player, don't get us wrong, but there is one player who proved more than once that he needs a world-class team, because he's a world-class player.

We're talking about Brazil's best pro: Otávio 'tavo' Gabriel. SG e-sports, paiN Gaming or Chaos Esports Club - tavo was always a player who stood out of the mass of players in his region. He joined compLexity Gaming and immediately deserves the spot in North America's Dream Team.

The position 4 support

Danylo 'KINGRD' Nascimento, Zakari 'ZfreeK' Freedman and Arif 'MSS' Anwar are top-notch North American position 4 supports, but they're not even close to the best player of their region on this position.

Andreas 'Cr1t-' Nielsen is one of the best players in the world. He's on one level with Yazied 'YapzOr' Jaradat, Maroun 'Gh' Merhej and Vladimir 'RodjER' Nikogosyan. His playstyle is just amazing. He's brilliant, a fast-thinker and also calm in every moment. Cr1t- can make it in any dream team.

The position 5 support and captain

North America always had one huge captain who'd shape the regions way of playing - these days this player is Tal 'Fly' Aizik. The Canadian-Israeli position 5 support has been proving his game knowledge for more than a couple of years now. He established OG as a top-notch organization and helped EG to find their way back to the top.

Although his last months were a bit shaky, none of the other captains could stop him. Worth mentioning are at least captains such as Johan 'pieliedie' Åström and Theeban '1437' Siva.

The squad

ca Artour 'Arteezy' Babaev
pk Sumail 'SumaiL' Syed Hassan
br Otávio 'tavo' Gabriel
dk Andreas 'Cr1t-' Nielsen
il Tal 'Fly' Aizik

Which five players would you pick for your NA dream team?

This an subjective article which represents the opinion of the author. We define region not by nationality, but the region they play in.
