Bring EG to EU quals. Will be very fun. 😁— Peter Dager (@Peterpandam) 9. April 2019
Three players of EG actually live in Europe and go to NA for bootcamps or playing officials. The community is debating whether Gustav 's4' Magnusson, Andreas 'Cr1t-' Nielsen and Tal 'Fly' Aizik actually constitute a European core for EG. Considering that Fly is actually a Canadian citizen these debates seem a bit out of place.
We still discussed how an all-American EG would look like and this is what we came up wit:
s4 is a top-notch offlaner right now. He has a huge hero pool, can make fast decisions and is perfectly in tune with Fly's strategy. The best replacement we found in North America is probably JingJun 'Sneyking' Wu.
The US citizen played for several teams this season, alongside Jacky 'EternaLEnVy' Mao. His biggest success was a 3rd-4th place at StarLadder ImbaTV Dota 2 Minor. He even attended The International 2018 and made it into the top 8. He's probably the best North American offlaner right now.
The position four support
It's even more difficult to replace Andreas 'Cr1t-' Nielsen, because the Dane is considered to be one of the best position four players in the world, maybe even the best one - and let's be honest: it's actually impossible to replace him. However, there is an old EG veteran who's playing on the position four for J.Storm right now. Clinton 'Fear' Loomis is like the Godfather of North American Dota 2 and won The International 2015 alongside Sumail 'SumaiL' Syed Hassan.
He's clearly not a top-level position four support right now, but his experience in the game and the fact that he played alongside Artour 'Arteezy' Babaev and Sumail 'SumaiL' Syed Hassan for quite some time helps him to be the perfect match for a North American EG lineup.
The captain and drafter
Tal 'Fly' Aizik is actually a North American player and wouldn't have to leave the lineup, but going back to Europe from time to time makes him European - at least for some people in the community. This is why we thought about bringing Peter 'ppd' Dager back to the USA.
He won TI5 with Fear and SumaiL and is still one of the best position five captains and drafters in Europe and North America. The only problem: although ppd played on a team with SumaiL, their synergy might not be the best anymore. ppd has explained several times that he's not really fond of the midlane star.
However, if they could fix their problems, ppd would be the best asset to start on position five for Evil Geniuses. Otherwise Michael 'ixmike88' Ghannam might be an option.
So the North American Evil Geniuses would look almost like the old lineup that was competing in several competitions in 2015 and 2016 with only one difference: JingJun 'Sneyking' Wu replaces Saahil 'Universe' Arora who is not playing for a professional team right now after leaving Forward Gaming.
Would you like to see EG go back to an all-American lineup? Who else would you like to see in the EG dress?
