Chaos Esports and underdog team Pain Gaming have come out on top of the MDL Disneyland Paris Major South America Qualifier to make the tournament in Paris.

Pain Gaming an unexpected force in South America

If their named were mentioned prior to a few days ago you probably would not even know who they were, as before the qualified they were known as paiN Gaming. Since their victory, though, the underdog squad has been picked up by Pain Gaming. Pain won their group with a 4-2 record and 2-0'd both Infamous as well as, notably, Misery's Chaos Esports to qualify for the tournament.

Not much is known about the all-Brazilian side, and so there will be very little expectations placed on them in Paris; on the other hand, this also means that there is very little intel about how they will play come May. It is also important to consider how strong they performed in the Qualifier, which means they may very well have a few upsets up their sleeves when the tournament arrives.

Misery and Chaos are looking electric

Yes, it is true that they lost against Pain Gaming; but, it is also true that they went 4-1 in the Group Stage, and also true that they won their other two series in the Playoffs 2-0. Chaos Esports Club are starting to look especially sharp, with a strong reportoire of heroes and the manic, exciting play one could only hope for in the South American region.

Specifically, Chaos' core duo of William 'hFnk3' Medeiros (who went 11-1-12 on Phantom Lancer against Infamous) and Omar 'w33haa' Aliwi (who went 10-3-18 on Monkey King against Infamous) looked fantastic; the whole team has been performing well as a unit, including their captain Rasmus 'rASmus' Fillipsen, who has virtually not been talked about in Dota 2 at all since his run at The International 2016; perhaps this is his year that they establish themselves as a top tier team in Dota 2.
