Three regions, three qualifiers: Who will make it to Disneyland?

posted by Brasozial,
Europe, South America and CIS - the first three Regional Qualifier for MDL Disneyland Paris Major will start on Thursday. Eight teams per Region will fight for a spot at the penultimate Major of the season.

Can OG annoy the top teams?

The only team from Europe that doesn't have to fight for DPC points anymore is Team Secret. Clement 'Puppey' Ivanov and his team-mates won the second Major, made it into the Grand Finals of the first Major and finished 4th at the Stockholm Major.

The second best team in Europe are the Ninjas in Pyjamas right now. The team around Peter 'ppd' Dager is in 7th place in the DPC ranking - it's important for the squad to qualify for the event in Paris.

Another favourite from Europe is Team Liquid. At least they were a favourite during the last few months. However, the team didn't have a strong start to the season. With merely 525 points right now, Team Liquid has to fight to qualify directly for The International. If Liquid doesn't make it to the next Major, they will have a hard time regarding that task.

OG is without a doubt a threat to the top three. The reigning TI champion is finally back in shape with their carry star Anathan 'ana' Pham who took a break after winning in Vancouver last year.

The other four teams in the qualifier are: Alliance, The Final Tribe, Goblin Legs with Riku 'Buugi' Fält and SexyAsFuck around Giorgos 'SsaSpartan' Giannakopoulos and his Greek team-mates.

Infamous with two new Europeans

In South America two teams are the big favourites to make it to the fourth Major: Chaos Esports Club and Infamous - both have European players in their lineup.

Omar 'w33haa' Aliwi and Rasmus 'MiSeRy' Fillipsen helped their Brazilian team-mates to not only reach the top of their region, but also be a threat to the top teams in the world. At the DreamLeague Season 11 they even eliminated Team Liquid.

Infamous, on the other hand, just signed Oliver 'Skiter' Lepko and Malthe 'Biver' Winther to keep the level of play and qualify for the second Major of their region.

Adriano '4DR' Machado and Rodrigo 'Lelis' Santos joined forces in Butterfly Effect. If they make it to the Major, they could be dangerous for teams like Thunder Predator and Demolition Boys.

VP on the way to another Grand Final is the best team in the world right now - according to the DPC ranking. The Russian squad made it into every Major Grand Final and won The Kuala Lumpur Major. They already proved last season that they won't stop taking tournaments seriously at the end of the season even if they already have enough DPC points. All CIS teams will be prepared to just fight for the second Major slot of their region.

Natus Vincere, Gambit Esports and Old But Gold: these three teams are the favourites to fight for the second slot. However, it wouldn't be the first time that a dark horse surprises the established teams in the CIS region in 2018/19.

Even Igor 'ILTW' Filatov is back in the CIS region with his team called CM19ESji. He will also try to make it to another DPC event.
