🇮🇳 We promised, and now we'll deliver! The first team to be invited to #ESLOne Mumbai 2019 is @NiPGaming! We can't wait to see what they'll achieve at Mumbai's first ever Dota 2 event! https://t.co/Kf6gkpr7ep pic.twitter.com/cmMOkuCxl9— ESL Dota2 (@ESLDota2) 16. Februar 2019
Seven teams will be invited to the event in Mumbai and all four big regions get one qualifier. On top of that, India has its own qualifier to complete the list of twelve teams that participate in the tournament. NiP is the first team that got invited for the event before ESL One Katowice 2019 in Poland even started.
Will we see another epic match between Secret and VP in India?
Peter 'ppd' Dager and his team-mates got invited to all three ESL One events of this season, although they disappointed at the first one in Hamburg: they finished in 9th-10th place.
The event in the Indian metropolis will start on April 19 and end two days later. Teams competing in the AMD Sapphire Dota Pit Minor in Croatia will think twice if they want to attend the event in India, because the Minor starts one day later.
The qualifiers are scheduled for end of February - one week after the event in Katowice ends. Europe, SEA, China, NA and India - every region had two open qualifiers and two invites: all squads for the regional qualifier are set. Teams like Alliance, Natus Vincere, compLexity Gaming or Keen Gaming will fight for the last slots - and six teams will still get an invitation to the event in India.
What do you think about events in India? Would you like to see more events in uncommon countries?
