It was a busy weekend across the two editions of the King’s Cup 2, as Roman 'Resolut1on' Fominok led his new team to their first title in North America while the four playoff teams were confirmed for Southeast Asia.

Not enough in the tank for J.Storm

Perhaps it was a symptom of having played 17 games already in the tournament leading up to the finale, but J.Storm offered little resistance against Forward Gaming in the America final, who had played just three as the invited team. Tae Won 'March' Park’s side led in net worth for less than five minutes in total across the three games, as Roman 'Resolut1on' Fominok and his squad picked up a clean sweep.

Game 1 saw Saahil 'Universe' Arora pick up just as many kills himself (17) on Axe as J.Storm managed in total, with Yawar 'YawaR' Hassan just one behind. Game 2 was closer, but still one-sided as Forward racked up a 20k advantage, this time Resolut1on doing the damage on Medusa. And finally, Game 3 saw him go absolutely crazy, claiming 23 of his team’s 32 kills for just one death.

It was a solid first championship win for the side, who seal their spot at Dota Summit 10, and now travel to Germany looking to make an impact at ESL One Hamburg 2018.

Three spots earned in the SEA semifinals

In the SEA edition of King’s Cup 2, the Group Stage ended with three clear-cut qualifiers. Top of the pile were Lotac, finishing with a 4-3-0 record without a series loss. Just a point behind were Clutch Gamers, who finished 4-2-1, and their only conquerors Yoshimoto.Detonator, who went 3-3-1.

The three sides join Fnatic in the semifinals, with each match of the double-elimination bracket being played as a best-of-three. The matches get under way tomorrow (23 October) at 06:00 CEST / 00:00 ET / 12:00 PHT.

Lotac will be looking to continue their form against Clutch, who will also be optimistic following their Group Stage tie. Former TNC offlaner Samson E. 'SamH' Hidalgo will be looking to lead his all-Filipino side DeToNator to the win against his fellow countrymen Abed 'Abed' Yusop and Djardel 'DJ' Mampusti of Fnatic.

Who do you think will earn the crown of SEA champions?
