Just four teams are left in the GESC E-Series: Bangkok — today we will find out our last Minor champion of the first season of the DPC.

Twice Templar Assassin equals two wins. That is the quick maths we can produce after the quarterfinals between VGJ.Storm and The Final Tribe.

In Games One and Three, the North American squad was able to pick that hero, against whom the Swedes didn't have a good solution. The NA team now safely has 30 points, but due to the addition of Roman 'Resolut1on' Fominok they are not eligible to compete in the active DPC anymore - which means a TI invite won't be possible. Still, the team will try to win the tournament in Thailand and write their names in the Dota 2 history books as the final Minor champion of the first DPC.

They have to win two more games, starting against Jacky 'EternaLEnVy' Mao's Fnatic in the semifinals. With the surprising loss of Evil Geniuses in Round One of the playoffs, Fnatic have the chance to close in on ninth place in the rankings.

Secret on the way to TI invite

The second semifinal is between Keen Gaming and Team Secret. After their Major win at DreamLeague Season 9, they have not been able to put in more good performances at Valve tournaments. With a win in Thailand they could boost their confidence for the upcoming Mars Media Dota 2 League: Changsha - only two days after the Minor ends.

Although the Minor doesn't award many points in the DPC, Secret can take a deep breath - the first team outside the top 8, EG, lost — creating more space for Clement 'Puppey' Ivanov and his fellow teammates.

With 4800 points, it's likely that Secret will not be caught and surpassed by six other teams - meaning the Europeans can use all remaining events as preparation for TI.
