We haven't seen eu OG in any Pro Circuit event since Captains Draft Season 4 so it may not feel like it, but they've been on a serious hot streak over the last month or so. Their latest win nabbed them a spot at the EPICENTER XL Major. The #EPICENTER XL Europe Closed Qualifier. And we have a winner! See you in Moscow, guys 🙂🇪🇺@OGDota2 [3-0] 🇪🇺Kingdra, bo5 (Grand Final) #epicgg #quals #dota2 pic.twitter.com/By2hnRGsRj— EPICENTER (@epicentergg) February 17, 2018

OG faced eu Kingdra in the final. The Pokemon themed EU stack had persevered through being knocked to the lower bracket in both the group stage as well as the playoff round but had lost to OG 2-0 in the group stage and didn't fare any better when they faced them a second time in the best-of-five final.

To put it simply, OG styled on them. They drafted confidently and allowed Roman 'Resolut1on' Fominok to do exactly what he does best - get farmed and dominate. We were also treated to some classic Jesse 'JerAx' Vainikka Earth Spirit in Game 3, where he made fancy moves like this one:

Unstoppable OG

As of this latest match, OG have won every online series they've played since Captains Draft Season 4. Their game record is 37 wins to 2 losses - those two coming from a 2-1 against se The Final Tribe in EPICENTER and a 2-1 against eu Gang Squad* in DreamLeague. They lost a "series" at Galaxy Battles, but were playing that event with two standins, and furthermore the loss was in a single-game series. For our purposes, that doesn't count towards this streak.

As pointed out by a reddit comment from Noxville, this streak is the 8th best 50-game stretch in pro Dota 2 history. He goes on to say that if they win their next 8 games they'll be second only to se Alliance for the 100-game stretch record. They'll have a tough time reaching that goal however as their next games will be in the group stage of ESL One Katowice 2018.

Their opening match in that event is against cn Vici Gaming and if they win that, they'll be up against the winner of eu Team Liquid versus ru Effect. A daunting task indeed.

EPICENTER will be OG's fifth Pro Circuit event in 2018. OG played in four Pro Circuit events in the months after TI7 and took Top 4 in three of them, so it will be exciting to see whether they can keep up that level of performance after this very impressive month.
