The two-day PGL Open: Bucharest Southeast Asian qualifiers have wrapped up with a best-of-three Grand Final showdown between my Mineski and ph Execration. Congratulations to @MineskiProTeam the first team to qualify for the PGL Open Bucharest LAN event. :) https://t.co/GOfhqtHl01 pic.twitter.com/jt2qPKYs98— PGL (@pglesports) September 12, 2017

The Southeast Asian qualifier began just yesterday with two round robin groups of four teams. Mineski, ph HappyFeet and Int Fnatic all tied with 2-1 records, but due to the previously agreed upon time rating rule, Fnatic were out of the running. PGL have since changed the rule after a public outcry, but the rule change was not retroactively applied to the SEA qualifier, which had already finished Day 1.

The second day of matches consisted of three best-of-threes to determine which team would be headed to Bucharest in October. After yesterday's 5-0 record, Execration continued to impress by taking down Happy Feet 2-1, but met their match in Mineski in the final.

Mineski absolutely dominated Execration in both games, drafting offlane Visage for iceiceice twice. The first game ended just after the 30 minute mark with Mineski up 38 kills to 10 and diving Execration in their base. The second game went just about as well as the first for Mineski, who ended things up 44 kills to 16 just before the 30 minute mark with iceiceice's Visage and Mushi's Sniper hogging most of the glory.

With this win, Mineski will head to the PGL Minor to fight against us Evil Geniuses, cn PSG.LGD and five other teams from the remaining regional qualifiers. The rest of those qualifiers take place either this week or next week. Check our coverage page for the latest details!
