The King's Cup is an eight team online event featuring squads from both North and South America. Seven teams will be invited while one additional team will be decided via an open qualifier held on FACEIT (Signups here).

The open qualifiers will run on September 4, with the League stage kicking off a couple days later on Sept 6. League play will consist of a round robin of two-game series. The top four teams from League play advance to a double elimination playoff bracket, which is scheduled for Sept 19-20.

Here are the invited teams:

The big news from this list is the existence of Digital Chaos' South American roster. At the moment we're only assuming that "SA" stands for South America, but it's a based on an earlier article from a Peruvian esports news page which claimed that DC had signed an SA squad featuring de Dominik 'Black^' Reitmeier and several South American players.

Black^ later tweeted something of a denial about the roster, but it's always possible that Black^ was only considering joining the team, or that he was never on the roster in the first place.

just landed in germany to see that i moved to SA...don't believe everything you hear or see ^_^.— Dominik Reitmeier (@BlackDotA2) August 31, 2017

Then again, he could be trying to throw us all off the scent. Only time will tell. Matches for the King's Cup kick off in just a few days!
