James "2GD" Harding had a 10 minute vent on his Twitch stream earlier today about the supposed poor working conditions for talents at The International 4 which he hosted.

2GD: "Every single event me and Icefrog usually chat over Skype"

The former Dota 2 host decided to give more backstory into why he got a bad rep with Valve, and decided to share behind the scenes details live on his own Twitch stream about TI4.

"The whole event ticked me off," said 2GD on stream. "I don't mind people being shit at their job but not when it makes my job harder. That was the whole thing at TI4. It's okay if the people working the event were shit as long as it doesn't make everyone else's jobs shit, you know what I mean, and your audience doesn't know."

"It started off so annoying. So the first thing that happened was, every single event me and Icefrog usually chat over Skype... as in like type and then we talk about the talent, who we want to pair together, who we thinks going to work well together and stuff like this. It's always been like this. So me and Sheever are talking the day before, and we're like you know we've got to sit here for 12 hours a day on the panel.

"Right I'm like you know its not TI yet its the groupstages. So Sheever said 'I'll open' and I'm like 'okay you open' and I'll come in at 2 o clock or whatever and I'll go until 12. We didn't tell Icefrog this unfortunately, and I get a message from Icefrog basically saying 'where the fuck are you?'."

2GD working the desk until "twat-o-clock in the evening"
2GD said he believed this oversight by himself and Sheever created a vibe in the Valve staff that he was "asleep at the opening of the show", but in fact he was watching the show and he was just not keen to "sit there for 12-14 hours straight". "So he (Icefrog) messaged me that and I'm like all right fuck you, I'm going to be at the desk every second every single day. I won't even leave the desk if that's how you feel."

The hours were long according to 2GD who said he was on 12 hour+ shifts and said he "woke up at twat-o-clock in the morning" and was at the desk "until twat-o-clock in the evening". The second issue 2GD mentioned on his stream was the ESPN segment at TI4, which the chosen talent (2GD, Sheever, Godz and Merlini) had to do a rehearsal for after the day's games despite already having "only five hours sleep".

Overall 2GD's main gripes were selected talent being overworked, a lack of food available and that his suggestions on how to improve conditions for himself and the other talent beingtaken as "an attack on someone's personal work".

However, he admits that his handling of the situation was not ideal and that problems were inevitable when you are trying to get a Dota studio to match up to a sports broadcast production.
