Invictus Gaming vs OG was the DAC Grand Final. We've already been treated to a rematch and it's only the first day of Kiev Major action. Been there, done that: IG beat @OGDota2 with a 2-0 score. #ROGKiev pic.twitter.com/wyI3mHAcNO— joinDOTA (@joinDOTA) April 24, 2017

We already knew that Invictus Gaming were a threat coming into The Kiev Major but no one knew we'd see them face OG as early as the group stage.

The first game could be summed up simply as a display of Boboka's amazing talent. He was our DAC MVP, and he continued to impress with mind blowing plays like this one:

How did he know that tree was a Monkey King? He's just that good.

Boboka was playing Riki in Game 2 and OG seemed to have him all figured out. You might hope as much, since the hero gave them a lot of trouble at DAC. However, iG had both new and old tricks up their sleeve (or you might say... in their pocket).

Their old trick was a last pick Anti-Mage for BurNIng. Not many Dota players can say that they've been able to dominate with the same hero for years, but BurNIng AM is a thing of legends. OG played like beasts in the early game, killing anyone and everyone they could get their hands on, but they couldn't catch BurNIng.

While iG tanked many, many ganks, BurNIng farmed. He even bought a Hand of Midas before finishing his Battle Fury, and with empower from Xxs's Magnus, his farm accelerated to a near blinding rate.

Once BurNIng felt comfortable enough to join fights, iG started to claw the game back and that's when the new trick, "pocket Riki", came into play.

Aghanim's Scepter isn't a popular item on Riki, but Boboka is known for pioneering new builds (coughthreeAquilacough) and when combined with an initiator like Magnus or Storm Spirit, it can deal some serious damage.

The game slowly and inevitably began to swing iG's way. BurNIng's AM was on the front lines and with a Linken's Sphere, Butterfly and Heart of Tarrasque he was unkillable.

iG took the win after 46 minutes of farming. The B-God even managed to break the record for the highest GPM on Anti-Mage of all time with his 1040 GPM. The previous record holder was ru Ilya 'Illidan Stormrage' Pivtsaev, who had a 1035 GPM AM game during Starseries XI.

We should be glad that OG met iG so early in the tournament, because hopefully it will give them an even better drive to prepare for their next meeting. Perhaps it will be in The Kiev Major Grand Final?
