After listening to feedback from vocal sections of the playing community on the often controversial subject of regional integration and separation, Valve has tonight announced that they have implemented additional server support for the Dota 2 Test client, intended mainly for the Russian and Northern European playerbase. The Valve developer us Zoid announced the news:

Our new Dota 2 dedicated server cluster located Stockholm, Sweden is now online for play in Dota 2 Test. You can try it out by selecting "Stockholm" as the server region when creating a practice lobby. You can select to be queued for matchmaking for these servers by selecting the "Russia" matchmaking group before you begin finding a match.

This server region was allocated for our customers specifically in Russia and Northern Europe.

With the introduction of this new server cluster, Valve seems to be working towards making good on their promise of providing optimal playing conditions (ping/latency) for the global playing audience, as the game creeps ever closer to a full release.
