Beyond the Summit unveiled its plans to host its own event entitled "The Summit" just moments ago. Their first ever offline competition will see six teams gather in the BTS Studio to fight over $50,000. BTS promises to venture into "uncharted territory for DOTA2" by running a more intimate style tournament.

BeyondTheSummit have already confirmed the participation of two teams who will receive direct invites to the competition, Na'vi and team DK. The remaining four slots for the finals which will run from June 5-8th and be held in the BTS Studio in Los Angeles, will be decided through online qualifiers beginning in April across the three major regions; America, Europe and Asia.

For its first major live event BeyondTheSummit also aim to "venture into uncharted territory for Dota 2 by running more an intimate, "behind the scenes" style tournament". BeyondTheSummit will hopefully be taking from the success of Dennis "TaKe" Gehlen's HomeStory Cup in Starcraft2, which invited star players from around the world to TaKe's home studio in Germany to compete in a 1on1 tournament. HomeStory Cup was unprecedented in the fact it allowed viewers to see how players socialised with each other outside of the game as well as featuring a lot of casts by players themselves.

When players aren't actively competing, they will enjoy a much more active role in the broadcast than what is normally seen at a traditional live event. Ultimately, BTS wants to give players a platform to connect more directly with fans and to share the personalities, insight, and humor behind the names.
