Christmas is done and New Year's Eve, too - we're facing the first highlights in 2019. While we take a look back to December 2018 and the last winner of the year, we're preparing for the The Bucharest Minor in the upcoming weeks. December was a rather slow month. The Dota 2 community was in a christmasy mood and players did the same. The last big tournament of the year was the MegaFon Winter Clash, which was won by Team Liquid in a quite dominant fashion.

On top of that, we watched the best teams from three regions to fight for the crown of the joinDOTA League Season 14.

However, those are not the only big champions of the month: who is the king of the joinDOTA Oracle?

As you can see, all plaudits went to LuckySniper, whose 10,9-point winning margin makes him win the joinDOTA Oracle second time in the row. While he only had 143 right guesses in November, December was his month with over 200 correct matches! Although his win rate went down from 71,5% to 68.6% it's enough the let him finish 2018 as the last king.

The second place goes to Uuggaa, whose impressive 24,8-point winning margin saw a jump from fourth in November. Although his win rate is one percent higher than LuckySnipers, he didn't bet enough games correctly to reach first place. He finishes the last month of 2018 with 366,7 points.

What is coming up in January

Let's see, if LuckySnipers can finish the first month of 2019 on the same level or if we get a new winner. The upcoming tournaments make it definetely interesting: The Chongqing Major and The Bucharest Minor are obviously the highlights of January, but there are way more tournaments to make it exciting.

Making predictions on joinDOTA is easy! Just make sure you're logged in to your account on the site, then use either the coin symbol on the match ticker or click "jD Oracle" on the Events section of the menu. Either one will take you to a page that displays the next six matches open for predictions. As soon as you predict a match, it will disappear and a new one will pop in to take its place.

A little further down the page you'll see the rankings (click "Show all" to find past months). Your most recent predictions will be displayed at the bottom. You can find a detailed explanation of how it all works here. And for a detailed breakdown of the formula, see final comment on this thread.

Good luck!
