Although the main event doesn't get underway until the weekend, a seeding playoff will be played out tomorrow from the ESL office in Cologne to determine who plays who in the opening round of the ESL One Frankfurt. However, despite it not being the main event there will be plenty of big name clashes, the most enticing perhaps the EG vs iG in the opening round.

With many teams coming into the competition on the back of titles such as VP at the recent DreamLeague Season 3 or iG's ECL spring victory, it makes predicting the outcome of the seeding round far more complicated. A month ago many would have written off VP as being past their prime, but renewed confidence could see them upset Cloud9 in the opening round, who are playing with Pas as a stand-in for Bone7 who has yet to arrive.

Top seeds get to pick their opponentsOne new feature of the ESL One Frankfurt seeding process is that when it is completed tomorrow evening the top 1-4 seeds will take it in turn to pick their opponents for the first round of the main event from seeds 5-8.

If you're confident about your Dota 2 knowledge you can also prove it by taking a gamble and placing some virtual bets via our GIGABYTE Betting King competition on the seeding matches as well as the main event.
